Senior IT Engineer

About the Role 
 
Data Mavericks is seeking a Senior IT Systems Engineer to support and operate our global IT environment. This role focuses on the reliability, security, and availability of end-user systems, enterprise applications, and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong customer service mindset, takes ownership of issues end-to-end, and ensures a consistent and secure IT experience for employees worldwide. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Operate, monitor, and maintain IT systems to ensure availability, performance, and reliability. 
• Act as the primary escalation point for IT Operations, owning incidents through resolution and follow-up. 
• Provide operational support for Microsoft Intune, Entra ID (Azure AD), Office 365/office.com, Active Directory, endpoint management, and end-user networking. 
• Support and manage Windows and macOS endpoints, ensuring devices, applications, and security controls function effectively. 
• Administer and support cloud and SaaS environments across Azure and AWS, including access management, monitoring, and operational troubleshooting. 
• Troubleshoot complex system, network, and application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. 
• Monitor system health, storage, and alerts in line with IT operations best practices. 
• Support information security operations, including identity and access management, endpoint protection, patching, and network security controls. 
• Support compliance and governance requirements by operating technical controls, supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to approved access, data handling, and security policies. 
• Provide operational support for secure data platforms, including access provisioning, availability monitoring, and incident response. 
• Document operational procedures and support workflows to improve service quality and response times. 
• Collaborate with architects, security, and engineering teams to implement approved solutions in production. 
• Participate in on-call rotations to support global operations. 

Required Qualifications and Skills 

• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Operations, IT Systems Engineering, or a similar role. 
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Office 365/office.com, Windows Server, and Active Directory. 
• Experience supporting both Windows and macOS in enterprise environments. 
• Hands-on experience with Azure and AWS cloud environments. 
• Knowledge of system monitoring, storage administration, and alert management. 
• Strong troubleshooting and incident-management skills. 
• Working knowledge of compliance, governance, and security controls in enterprise environments. 
• Strong customer-first mindset with clear and professional communication skills. 
• Ability to work effectively in a global, collaborative team environment. 
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to related technologies, tools, and domains.
